Job Summary: To provide skilled speech therapy to DotCom Therapy clients using a secure web-based platform. Skilled speech therapy is not limited to evaluations, treatment, consultations, screenings, and documentation of services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a web-based platform for delivery of services.
  • Provide evidence-based evaluations for students age 3-21 while following necessary evaluation protocol. Interpret results and prepare professional written evaluation report that follows DCT recommended guidelines.
  • Provide speech/language screenings and/or consultations when necessary.
  • Confidently administer assessments for cognitive-communication disorders and interpret the results using a web-based platform.
  • Confidently and effectively identify the presence and/or the risk of a communication and/or swallowing disorder.
  • Confidently select individualized and evidence-based approaches to intervention.
  • Develop evidence-based plans in line with the American Speech and Language Association (ASHA) Code of Ethics.
  • Design innovative and engaging materials, prepare IEPs as needed on a timely basis, document goals, and modify goals based on student needs and performance.
  • Perform advanced session planning upon request of school district.
  • Provide skilled speech therapy treatment for students, both individually and in group settings, using evidence-based approaches. Complete session SOAP notes within 24 hours of treatment.
  • Maintain the flexibly to adapt/modify the treatment plan, intervention being utilized, and other professional areas in order to best provide an individualized therapy approach.
  • Proficiently and professionally document services rendered.
  • Confidently and accurately utilize data collection methods and tools for analysis of client performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team of professionals to develop student goals for improved educational success and maintain comprehensive documentation of services.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, review existing data, and form team meetings.
  • Communicate with families regarding services.
  • Serve as a case manager or process coordinator, and ensure appropriate delivery of the treatment plan, when applicable.
  • Discharge when appropriate.
  • Confidently and professionally counsel individuals and groups regarding cognitive-communication disorders and the educational impact and/or impact on quality of life.
  • Prepare professional quarterly progress report for schools.
  • Conduct school-based facilitator/speech aide training.
  • Understand and follow the ASHA’s Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice.
  • Understand and follow the scope of practice and regulations of the state(s) in which licensed.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations, including The Privacy Rule and The Security Rule.
  • Adhere to HIPAA privacy safeguards related specifically to speech therapy and teletherapy.
  • Adhere to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Adhere to DCT Standards of Practice Manual.
  • Maintain up-to-date schedule in Google Calendar. Maintain an organized and consistent schedule. Collaborate with teachers/staff regarding best times to schedule evaluations, screenings, and treatment.
  • Blog, hashtag, and post on media outlets regarding professional experiences and background as desired.
  • Utilize Slack for collaboration and team building when desired.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Technology: Experience and comfort with use of various types of technology.

Required

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • Currently hold a SLP board license in state of residence
  • A ND board license or ND educator’s license required for this opportunity
  • CCCs: Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency
  • Pediatric Populations: At least 1 year of experience
  • Documentation of School-Based Services, Including IEPs: At least 1 year of experience
  • Continuing Education: Complete continuing education to maintain CCCs and licensure.

Strongly Preferred Qualities 

  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient with computer technology
  • More than 20 hours availability in a week
  • Experience with pediatric patients

Pediatric Partners, a member of the Sevita family is looking for a knowledgeable, experience, and dedicated individuals to join our Speech-Language Therapy Team! We are seeking full-time, part-time and per diem Pediatric Speech-Language Therapist Candidates!

This position is open in Fargo, Bismarck, and Grand Forks

Pediatric Partners offers outpatient therapy in a unique fashion that both patients and therapists love. Our clinic offers private treatment rooms and motor and sensory gyms. Therapists may also see patients in their natural home or daycare environments to help them meet their goals.

Speech-Language Pathologist responsibilities include:

  • Review hearing or speech and language test results, barium swallow results, or medical or background information to diagnose and plan treatment for speech, language, fluency, voice or swallowing disorders
  • Administer speech and language evaluations tests, or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairments, using written or oral tests or special instruments
  • Write reports and maintain proper documentation of information, such as patient billing records or caseload activities, including the initial evaluation, treatment, progress, and discharge of clients
  • Develop or implement treatment plans for problems such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, or inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems, based on own assessments and recommendations of physicians, psychologists, or social workers
  • Plan, organize, and conduct speech, language, feeding therapy sessions in home, school, or community settings with pediatric patients and coordinate speech-language therapy with other therapeutic activities
  • Select activities that will help pediatric patients learn activities of daily living within limits of their mental and physical capabilities
  • Educate and train a patient’s family and caregivers about how to accommodate and care for their patient
  • Evaluate a patient’s home, daycare, or school environment and identify how it can be better suited to the patient’s needs and capabilities

The ideal candidate for this position has the following:

  • Master of Science/Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
  • North Dakota Speech-Language Pathology license required by all SLP’s
  • Minnesota Speech-Language Pathology license may be required for all full-time and per diem therapists after hire
